Couldn’t AOL steal Twitter’s lunch if it wanted to?
Maybe I am overestimating the number of people who use AOL Instant Messenger but I feel like it has been underutilized as a device to do more than just send instant messages.
I’ve likely used it more than any other application since 1997.
It seems like a no brainer for it to be a hybrid instant messenger / microblogging app, not unlike tweetdeck.
I wonder why they haven’t done this already.
They’re doing this now.
Yes, this has been in the works for a while….
I have been an avid aim user since the 5th grade. My aim name, ashellray, has seen me through dial up, my first school paper using citations from url addresses, a facebook account my jr year of college, a finance job in nyc, and now, the offices of GofG…where everyone is required to create one…or at least resurrect theirs from 1997. Will it be able to take on Twitter? I for one, would use it. Hands down.
