Rachelle J. Hruska

I had a rock collection that I polished everyday…this and playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with the neighborhood boys was pretty much how I spent all of my free time from 1991-1993. I love this photo. I was so happy last night (as was evident by the giant smile I carried with me all night long-something that has been in hiding for some time).  And here’s why:
My new neon yellow sunglasses that I got at the Brooklyn flea market last Saturday with my friend Danielle (I paid too much but I don’t care, I love them, they remind me of my sister and how fabulous we were in the early ’90s).
DJ Nick Cohen. He played my favorite songs all night, including Johnny Cash.
The GofG T-Shirts made their first social apperance. I am in love with them. They remind me of all of the amazing people I get the honor of working beside each day.
My Kieth Lissner skirt…one of my favs made by my biggest supporter in this town-my love for you Keith runs deeper than the Atlantic….and the new Cole Haan shoes I was given by Renu-a new friend and fellow Midwesterner living in city- I love them, and I loved doing this event with you.
My Dannijo bracelet. Oh you haven’t met my new boyfriend?
This guy, Uri from some German TV station (?)
My mojito. It was delish.
I realize a lot of these things seem materialistic. However, when every item of your outfit can coorespond to a story/a friend/a business partnership, how could I not be smiling from ear to ear?
Thank you all who braved the nosebleed section of the city to scoop out the new Whitney Collection. You all continue to amaze me with your beautiful projects. What a lucky girl am I that I get to write about them all for a living!
